Overview

The Representative Office of BNP Paribas is the "business office" - bridge between the Turkish clients and the manyfold product divisions of the bank.

BNP Paribas was one of the first global banks to develop its presence in Turkey. Its commitment in the region dates back to its historical presence through Osmanli Bankasi (Ottoman Bank). It has strong relationships with a wide network of corporate and local financial institutions as well as with key governmental agencies and officials.

Turkey is one of the prime target markets for Project Finance. Therefore, The bank maintains very strong relationships with prime Turkish banks :

  • BNP Paribas arranged the three massive B.Os (Build/Operate) sponsored by InterGen and Enka (Adapazari, Izmir and Gebze) totalling 3854 MW. This project was awarded European Power & Global deal of the year 2000 by Project Finance.


  • BNP Paribas arranged the first true limited recourse B.O.T. (Build/Operate/Transfer) (Uni-Mar)


  • BNP Paribas is Advisor/Arranger for 761MW Tractabel sponsored Ankara BO (Build/Operate)


BNP Paribas' presence in Turkey is based on an efficient coordination through the representative office of structured finance and capital market activities that requires intensive contacts in selected sectors and key players.

The bank also maintains close relationship with this subsidiary: Anadolu-Cetelem Consumer Finance company, a joint venture with Anadolu Group.
